About The Role

Help Build the Data That Drives Better Learning

We believe great decisions start with great information.

Every learner who joins us, every employer we support, and every funding claim we submit relies on accurate, timely and trusted data. That's where you come in.  We're looking for an MIS Officer who takes pride in getting the detail right, enjoys solving problems and wants to make a genuine contribution to improving education and skills.

This isn't just an administrative role. You'll help ensure that our management information is trusted, our funding is protected and our teams have the insight they need to deliver outstanding outcomes for learners and employers.

What You'll Achieve

Success in this role isn't measured by how many records you process—it's measured by the difference your work makes. Within your first year you'll help us to:

  • Maintain learner data accuracy above 99.5%.
  • Deliver accurate, on-time monthly ILR submissions.
  • Ensure learner records are complete, compliant and audit-ready.
  • Improve the quality and reliability of management information across the organisation.
  • Reduce manual administration by identifying smarter ways of working.
  • Become a trusted source of support for colleagues across the business.

You'll take ownership of:

  • Maintaining accurate learner and employer records.
  • Supporting monthly ILR submissions and funding compliance.
  • Producing accurate operational reports and management information.
  • Identifying and resolving data quality issues before they become problems.
  • Supporting internal and external audits.
  • Working with colleagues to improve processes and data quality.
  • Helping develop more efficient, automated ways of working.

You'll be trusted to manage your workload, make informed decisions and recommend improvements—not simply follow a checklist.

What You'll Bring

At PETA, we can promise you that no two days are the same. Every day will bring fresh ideas, challenges, and collaborations. If you thrive in a fast-paced role where you can truly make an impact, this could be the ideal role for you. To be successful as a MIS Officer, attention to detail will be an essential requirement. You will also require the following skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
  • The ability to analyse information and identify inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.
  • A desire to continuously improve the way things are done.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

  • Experience working within an Independent Training Provider, college or education setting.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeships or DfE funding.
  • Experience using learner management systems such as Bud.
  • Experience producing reports or dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools.

Who Will Thrive Here?

You'll enjoy this role if you:

  • Like bringing order to complexity.
  • Enjoy working with data and solving problems.
  • Take ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Are naturally curious and always looking for improvements.
  • Care about quality and getting things right.
  • Enjoy helping colleagues succeed.
  • Want your work to have a measurable impact.

If you're someone who enjoys learning new systems and improving processes, we'll support you to develop the technical knowledge needed to succeed.
